Friday, October 5, 2018 – Karachi, PK // In the wake of rapid change and disruption, business leaders are looking to the finance function to take on a considerably broader set of responsibilities than ever before.
To discuss the changing face of business and the future of finance professionals, the Chartered Institute of Finance Professionals (CIMA) organized and hosted a dinner and networking event in collaboration with Learning Minds on October 5, 2018 in Karachi.
The opening note was delivered by Aneeb Furrukh, Country Head, CIMA. Talking about the Future of Finance Professionals, he said, “Technological advancement and automation is shifting the competency skills set required by finance professionals. For the finance professionals, this shift in role, impact of technology and changing face of the finance function will have implications for their required competencies & mindsets going forward.”
Talking about the growth mindset Sohail Zindani, Founder and CEO Learning Minds said in his keynote, “The constant need to learn, unlearn and relearn in a fast-paced world, and the frequent upgrade of competencies, is key to keeping ourselves updated with the latest trends and changes in the external environment.”
“The skills and knowledge valued today may become obsolete in within a couple of years. To stay relevant and updated, we will need to become adaptive learners, requiring more frequent competency and knowledge upgrades.” he further added.
The event was attended by CIMA members and senior finance professionals from some of the most reputed companies in Pakistan.
